Gobekli Tepi was nothing but a water distribution system?

This man says there's no mystery about Gobekli Tepi.  It was nothing but a way to distribute water.  He makes a good case, but his analysis just seems so....simplistic. What say you?

The water system theory completely ignores one thing. Where is the evidence of mineral buildup or wear associated with water stored in stone? Without that evidence it is impossible for the structures to have held water for any length of time.

Moving water wears away stone but this was not moving constantly in large ammounts. It was mostly still. Still water chemically changes stone. It leaves deposits or removes minerals from the stone.

There is no visable evidence of this chemical action. There is no chemical analysis of the upper most parts of the stones compared to the lowermost part of the stones. This would easily indicate they were standing in water for a length of time yet this is not mentioned. Probably never has been done.

Rain falling on stone pretty much effects it evenly. Standing in a pool of water changes the stone from top to bottom differently. The dry part and the wet part would be different.

So no, interesting video but I don't think it holds water.
I know too much and question everything.
Does anyone know the minimum safe distance of ignorance?
Did anyone ask the monkeys how much fun the barrel actually was?
