Giant plane in utah
#1
(I think this is right place, tell me if it should be elsewhere)
About six years ago, i was in a hotel room in a city in utah near a airforce base, when i looked out the window and saw an airplane wing covering the entire view. A aiplane was flying in between the hotal i was in and the next hotel across the street. It stayed that way for about 30 minutes, and then vanished while i was looking away for a second. No one else saw it and it left no trace. I calculated from time and speed that it was at least 30 miles long, and thats if it was going 60 miles per hour so it was probably larger. Also, it's wings were pointing upwards as if it was turning(i don't think i phrased that good, but dont know how to say it better), and it had kind of a old appearance, like someyhing from world war 2 or the cold war. Any clue what was going on?

ogden? and how could it be so big and fit between two hotels? how far away do you think it was? what altitude maybe? can you describe it more? was there any noise, and did you see anyone else reacting to it?

yes this is the right place perhaps thank you have good day!

Ok, let me answer those one at a time.
1. I don't remember, all i know is it was hosting a VEX robotic competion but that doesnt really narrow it down much. I do know there were jets flying by every few minutes
2. I don't know, i was bery confused by that and it was one of the first signs i had that it was no normal.
3. About a yard away i think, it was close enough to block out the window.
4. Not sure.
5. Memories fuzzy but i will try. It was unpainted metal held togethor by bolts and welding, i think there were gun turrets allong the wing but not sure.
5. The noise was about the same as the other jets flying far away.

Sorry that this is so vague. I know it probably sounds a bit unreal.

I know the memories of it happening are realiable because i told others soon after and thus can verify them, but my details then where basically limited to the details of its size.

I now have more details about time, and some that might lead tow here it happened. 2019, probably towards the end of that VEX robotics season, one of the last competitions before Utah State Championships. Unfortunatley the internet does not keep detailed lists of VEX robotics competiticions and thus i cant find the competition or the city, and i am a bit too nervous to ask the person i know knows exactly where it happened because they think ive finally dropped it.

I found a map with filters on the roboevents website...

https://www.robotevents.com/map

It wouldn't list any Events selecting one of the two 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 filters, but clicking on Teams does show their locations in the state. The map is much larger than the example below, so have a look for yourself.

Unfortunatly, team locations and competition locations arent exactly the same, but, from instead narrowing it down by aiforce bases, i have been able to narrow it down a lot. It was prpbably just a bit away from hill airforce base because there are not really many other airforce bases. Because the city wasnt just near it but actually connected to it, i have determined it was probably clearfield or layton. Though, it could be any of the cities listed in what i copied from wikipedia
Quote:  bordering the Cities of Layton, Clearfield, Riverdale, Roy, and Sunset
. I know the city wasnt just close but touching the airforce base.

speaking of large planes, recently we returned from a trip to Cancun.  Back at DFW, our flight unboarded on the tarmac to take a bus to the terminal.  On the return bus ride, we went right next to a parked A380, along the side and under the right wing.  One of the engines was just outside the window but being on a bus crammed with people packed in like sardines, I was unable to get to my phone to get video.
I still kick myself in the ass for not trying to get it.  I was awestruck to say the least.   The size of those engines are something to behold.   What an experience

As an aerospace engineer who designs aircraft for a living, I can't tell you what you saw or if you actually saw anything (as opposed to hallucinating), but I CAN tell you it was not a conventional airplane.  The wing span of an aircraft is roughly proportional to the fuselage length, so if the fuselage was 30 miles long, the wingspan would have to be the same order of magnitude in length.  There's no place you can land or take off with a 30 mile long aircraft with a 30 mile wingspan.  Such an airplane would probably have to have hundreds, if not thousands of motors to propel it.  An order for that many motors could not go unnoticed in the business world.  There is no hangar or factory where you could assemble or base such an aircraft.  I could go on, but you get the idea.

Not 30 mile wingspan, 30 mile length. I couldnt see the wingspan
