Is the Bible Metaphorical or Literal?
#1
Some claim Occultism was added into the Bible by Freemasons like King James. Others, like Bill Donohue and Santos Bonacci etc claim the Bible is Metaphorical Occultism. Or is it a mixture of Literal and Metaphorical? 514 The Bible Is Not A Literal Book - YouTube

The bible is history, and myth, and allegory, and poetry, etc.
It depends on what book in the bible you are reading.
And always remember, the OT history portions are told from the Hebrew point of view.
So there is bias.

Jesus would obviously have been killed according to Jewish Astrology Beliefs, to fulfil their Messiah Prophesy. So hardly surprising there would be Occult symbolism in the Bible. Probably a Solar Eclipse on that day. Numerology was also used to stop it being altered. The Extra Biblical Books of Enoch, Jasher, Jubilees and Giants go into more literal details on the Angels, Nephilim etc. Gary Wayne, L A Marzuli, Steve Quayle, Derek Gilbert etc know a lot more than me about it.

The Bible contains historical literature (1 and 2 Kings), dramatic literature (Job), legal documents (much of Exodus and Deuteronomy), song lyrics (The Song of Solomon and Psalms), poetry (most of Isaiah), wisdom literature (Proverbs and Ecclesiastes), apocalyptic literature (Revelation and parts of Daniel), short story (Ruth), sermons (as recorded in Acts), speeches and proclamations (like those of King Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel), prayers (many Psalms), parables (such as those Jesus told), fables (such as Jotham told), and epistles (Ephesians and Romans).

Historically, it seems pretty accurate, archaeologists have torn up most of the Middle East.
We have Jesus, the Old Testament was all about His revelation
As for your video, kinda marrying “stuff” up with his narrative, also funny how the person talking is using his understanding and imposing it over text, maybe text was written that way because the truth was pre existing.
The narrator makes out he is revealing something when he is just talking what has already revealed many times before
Like looking for corn in a cornfield, it’s there

And I know no learned Christian’s who say the bible is completely literal

The most studied book ever.

There are other English translations of the Bible which are not based on the KJV.  The Catholic Douai-Rheims Bible is said to be a direct translation of the Latin Vulgate Bible of St. Jerome, which was commissioned in A.D. 382 by Pope Damasus.  Other editions claim to have used modern scholarship to review the oldest sources.

There is nothing literal that is not also metaphor. Even mathematics.

If anyone doubts this, try making a few statements for us that are literally true and have no metaphorical interpretation. I think no matter what you say, someone will be able to find some.

Speculatively, this is because everything in this reality is an emanation of God.

Whether the words of scripture were written with primarily metaphorical or literal intent, or both, is moot¹. The Spirit goes where it will.

¹ In all senses.

The Bible is a collection of books written by mankind. These books are ancient writing as interpreted through many translations and mis interpretations of events.

They have been rewritten many times to subtially control the masses of humanity. That is when then common people were actually allowed to read them. That used to be illegal.

Man wrote about God but ended up making up god even though that may not have been entended originally. Openions about openions of misinterpretations.

While there is an argument that it hasn't changed much for a few thousand years, those old texts were plagerized form older works thousands of years older.

In other words, organized religion ruined any meaning those original works had. Partly through accident but at least partly intentional.

It still has some good stories though.  Just don't treat it like an operators manual for life like some do.
I know too much and question everything.
Does anyone know the minimum safe distance of ignorance?
Did anyone ask the monkeys how much fun the barrel actually was?

One might take the collected works of any faith and ask such a question.

In each answer is a reflection of the person answering.

Given that any 'bible' is valued by each distinctly and individually...

No one can homogenize what inspiration means...

Having been touched... touch... that's how it works.
