I've never been on a subway.  There just aren't any in my area.  
And when I took buses, there just weren't as many unique riders as there are today.

Ravens, peacocks, costumes, tattoo artists at work, people doing workouts, nappers, Darth Vader and Batman......

I've been on the NYC subway.  Didn't see anything strange.  SMELLED a lot of strange things though.  

We have been on the DC Metro a lot.  Very clean.  No strange stuff.
