I know for a fact that there is one.   We had to bring him in 5 years ago.   We started at the church level priest and when that didn't work clearing the problem I told the parish priest to contact the bishop to get the official diocese exorcist.  We brought him in and he was able to take care of the issue (which I caused because I was stupid and went to a medium with the neighbor 'for fun' and something followed me home).   The whole process from start of problem to end of problem was 6 months.

There are not enough official exorcist priests in the church.  Heck, there aren't enough priests at all.  But the exorcists are called to a different level and have special anointing and approval.  They have special exorcism prayers that even the regular parish priests are not allowed to use.

Our diocese has ONE exorcist priest and he lives 2 hours away.   It's a big diocese.   And yes ... he's very busy with this stuff.

Some years ago, my sister was doing a work for a church in a military installation and she had conversation with the priest about exorcisms and he lent her an official exorcisms book, with those special prayers and the description of how they should be done.

I don't remember if that priest was an exorcist or not.

PS: Just out of curiosity I scanned the book. Smile

The literature is out there... but then so is the Bible...

I have no such training, but dread ever having to need intervention of this kind.  Even if it's not for  me personally...

Most people haven't "smelled" evil.... bless them, (and may they ever remain ignorant of it.)

Sometimes... you can somehow "sense" or "discern" a thing you later resolve into "evil."

If you're anything like me, because you ignored that feeling... you walk face-first into it...

Kinda sucks, actually.

There is a book of exorcism prayers for regular priests.
Then there is another book of exorcist prayers just for official exorcist priests.
Not every priest can say those, only those approved by the Bishop.
Lay people are not allowed to say the prayers for regular priests nor for exorcist priests.
There is a book with exorcism prayers for lay people that is different.
I have the lay people book. (didn't seem to do anything for our situation)
I have seen the book for regular priests.
I have not seen the book for exorcist priests.

You can google them and see them for sale online.
We bought the priest one for our parish priest.

Deliverance Prayers - for use by the laity
By Father Chad Ripperger (Exorcist)

His books have the prayers that he took out of the official church books
that the church gives the priests.

I don't know what kind of book this was.
It has this presentation:

In accordance with the Decree of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, dated November 22, 1998, the present Portuguese version of Title XII of the Roma Ritual concerning the Celebration of Exorcisms was approved by the Portuguese Episcopal Conference and confirmed by the Apostolic See. It is intended for use in the Dioceses of Portugal, Angola and São Tomé, Mozambique, Cape Verde and Bissau.
Given the delicate nature of the ministry of exorcism, especially major exorcism, it is imperative that the priests entrusted with it, in addition to being animated by a spirit of faith, prudence and fortitude, keep well in mind the norms and guideline established in the Law and in the respective Preliminaries.

A couple of pages after, it has this:

At the request of His Excellency D. Manuel Franco da Costa de Oliveira Falcão, Bishop Emeritus of Beja, on behalf of the Episcopal Commission for Liturgy, in a letter dated May 25, 2000, and by virtue of the faculties granted to this Congregation by the Supreme Pontiff John Paul II, we gladly confirm the Portuguese translation of the typical edition of the Roman Ritual De Exorcismis et Supplicationibus quibusdam, as per the attached copy.

Maybe the Masonic infiltration of the Churches has impeded the Exorcist numbers and the Priests speaking out on Demons etc. Never heard of a Masonic Exorcist. This is an interesting interview. Bigfoot and the Bunny - June Lundgren: Demons, Shadow People & Earthbound Spirits

I looked up 'Islamic Exorcism' and most of it was women who werent Possessed, but had disobeyed their Husbands/Uncles/Brothers. Very disturbing. Wasnt the Fabian Society initiated by a Freemason who was kicked out of the Spiritualist Church/Psychical Research Society for being a Satanist. Keep safe everyone.

Did you ever find out what it was you actually brought home?

Just wondering what the "something" was?

I suppose it may not be appropriate to ask or divulge in case it doing so somehow brought it back into existence.

So i apologize if that's the case.

The church exorcist labeled it 'demonic harassment'.
He had to determine that it wasn't actually human spirits.
There are prayers and signs that do that.
Certain exorcism prayers are used for human spirits and
certain other ones for demons.

That's all I"ll say.   I'm not going to go into detail.
I was warned not to focus on it because it isn't healthy
and invites things in.
