China's "Century of Humiliation"
#11
I thought China was a burgeoning superpower. Are we getting jealous?

China and the US are spending so much time together...

Are you suggesting an uprising spurred on by tariffs and trade negotiations?

I doubt the CCP higher-ups want to upset the apple cart, it's easy for a patriotic uprising to turn into something completely different

After WW2, America was top dog. The campaign went on through Asia, Middle East and else where till you could buy a can of Coke and all the commercial regulation that went along with it everywhere. The USD and the systems it has setup like SWIFT is the international reserve currency.

Every day is a new world, as for where the New World Order is actually going? China has a tight grip on the WHO with its policy. With China's population, industry and technology, they are in a dominating position of global trade should the USD crash, every big city has a Chinatown section.

For more recent tensions to throw on this fire, trade imbalance, fentanyl, Taiwan, 2020 election, covid, university positions, politics. As for just how bad the hate is, China has not been kicked out of the Olympics like Russia.

Furthermore, in my anecdotal experience, there is no hate between the common people of the US and China. But we had an extremely diverse high school with plenty of Chinese

It's the Chinese government that America can't stand

Ive also worked in a few companies that worked intricately with China in producing their goods, once you get a good relationship with the people in China and the "home office," they are as easy to work with as any nationality LOL including American and Russian, cough cough

Well mate considering China starved 40 million of their own to death not that long ago probably unsurprising they are now hoarding insanely vast quantities of the world's food

Don't know if you've seen the research in this presentation but did find it rather fascinating - especially the extremely curious connections between ChiCom leadership and Yale University groups.

China's economy is largely a hollow shell, a paper cornucopia.  See the fields of unsold junked electric cars, bicycles and other goods no one wants and over produced.  See the empty cities and apartment buildings which were built and then abandoned.
Then you factor in the population question, boots on the ground show videos of largely empty streets, with citizens asking eachother where did everyone go?
I smell a rumbling for territorial expansion and a real hot war, on China's part.  To distract and galvanize their dwindling population and economy.

What rhetoric is China putting out there in regards to expansion, post the sources.

And here is me thinking Ukraine wanted to join NATO as a puppet state because of western corruption in its politics
it was the US who set up the military coup and 10 year civil war in Ukraine

interesting slice of history RT, appreciate it

It is envy RT  the reality is that when the Chinese get going the rest of the world had better up their game, or they will not be able to compete. Saying that Chinese goods are just crap is stupid because they are just filling a demand for cheap crap if you do due diligence on their product lines you can get stuff which is cheap and well made. where else can you buy a copy of a nineteenth century Swiss mechanical pocket watch which keeps perfect time and could be used as a ships chronometer for around 15 dollars US? It has been keeping perfect time as I have been comparing it with a quartz battery driven clock on the wall. I wondered if it had been assembled by robots probably but the same thing if it was bought when they were made would have cost thousands.
I always knew that China was too good to be true for the average joe, they would have to stop the imports because, that's why I have stocked up with stuff that would have cost me a fortune if I had bought western stuff. that's not knocking western quality but they can't compete on price. Even the charge controllers for solar panels puts the west to shame at about 7 dollars with free delivery,
I have an Ivory chess set made in the eighteen fifties from when the last time China was putting out goods to the West the craftsman ship and quality is extreme, but they were stymied then by opium so it looks like just the same ole thing where they are getting their own back. What the answer is I do not know but whatever it is you have to play the game for your own personal advantage .

I suddenly wanted to study the modern irrational hatred of Americans towards the Chinese. And as a result, I think I found the historical roots of this phenomenon. I want to share with you.

In fact, there are many smart and educated people in the United States. For example, the University of Southern California has a center for the study of China that seriously studies one of the main strategic opponents of the United States. On the site of this center there is a clear presentation of an extremely important phenomenon - China's Century of Humiliation.

I believe that if American politicians who are now attacking China read the presentation prepared for them by experts, they would avoid a number of costly mistakes.

Here is a brief summary of the document, translated first into Russian, and then for you into English.

And now, when China is the world's number one economy and the main trading partner for most countries on the planet, American politicians are trying to talk to China from a position of strength, and they do it publicly, showing off, with a demonstrative intent to humiliate...

Perhaps, it was impossible to come up with a better way to unite one and a half billion Chinese, charging them with patriotic enthusiasm.

Thank you.

I appreciate learning this information. I think we are still humiliating the Chinese people though I don't know if they see it that way. I mean, we basically use them as slave labor to manufacture our goods. If those jobs were in America, they would pay Americans probably depending on location 15-25 dollars an hour. But we use these third world countries to do manufacturing and pay their people pennies.

Maybe the Chinese should demand more pay or is that something that will get them thrown in jail? Is this a Chinese government policy to pay pennies for labor? I watched a documentary about the manufacture of jeans in China and these girls were having to work so many hours they literally had clothespins to hold their eyelids open, then they have to LIVE in the factory and PAY the factory for their food. They end up getting paid very very very little once the factory takes their cut. I think the rate was .18 an hour. 18 cents. Wow.

Do the Chinese people even know how underpaid they are and how their government acts like they're a superpower but in probably any other "super power" country they would be making at least somewhat livable wages?
