I would not "enjoy" recreating an animated image of my 'dearly departed' only
to endure the pain of the need for an illusion.

It might be a curiosity and for some a pleasure...
I can almost guarantee deep longing and regrets...

To each their own, I guess...

Sometimes grieving engenders comfort...
to see my love smiling a synthetic smile would
somehow offend me.

My apologies for my earlier post.    I was challenging my senses with five windows open, and interrupted while responded.   The reply I made to you was intended for another thread.

Gettin' old ain't for sissies, however the older I get, the better I adapt.

To the thread OP, I myself could never enjoy a fabrication of a lost loved one, or loved pet.  Once one has loved that deeply, nothing can replicate that spark, the human spirit;  those are not just behavioral responses, not just chemistry, not just motions flowing through time.

Between my love and me, one of us will go first.   If it is her, I will remember and cherish those memories.   I will never want a mirage.

I would not begrudge anyone who needed a replicant of their loved one to survive.   I understand the need.

I can attest to the fantasy this thing might address.
I confirm the 'want' of it is there.

But there is an alarm in my head calling out, "Maybe them, not you."

I don't discourage it, I just don't want to experience it...
