Heres what Grok says it has multiple links to evidence see below... but common logic suggests once it was realized there was infilttration they story became that aspect and it was where the news coverage went. Rocket attacks happen all the time in Israel. The major issue was the size an scope of the infiltration, IIRC contemporaneously large areas especially in the southern areas weren't exactly considered safe for days,as they weren't certain who was where and how many. I followed along in real time it was chaotic AF

Quote:Pictures and Visual Evidence
Finding specific, high-quality images of rocket and missile damage from October 7, 2023, is challenging due to security restrictions, limited media access, and Israel’s control over sensitive imagery, particularly for military sites. However, some sources provide photos or references to visual evidence:
  • Ashkelon:
    • Images from Al Jazeera show Israeli firefighters extinguishing a fire after a rocket hit a house and a parking lot in Ashkelon. Another photo captures burning cars following a strike.

    • A geolocated X post shows a direct rocket hit on a multi-story building in central Ashkelon, with a link to a video from the street (coordinates: 31.6710237, 34.5764751).
  • Tel Aviv: ABC News references images of rubble from a building hit by a rocket in Tel Aviv on October 8, indicating damage from the initial barrage.

  • Sdot Micha Airbase: The New York Times published a visual analysis with satellite imagery from Planet Labs, showing scorched earth at the base post-strike. These images are not publicly accessible without subscription but confirm the attack’s impact.

  • General Imagery: NPR’s photo collection includes a first responder at a rocket strike site in Tel Aviv on October 27, 2023, which may reflect similar damage from earlier attacks.

  • Limitations:
    • An X post claims Israel, with U.S. assistance, blinded satellites to obscure damage at sites like Nevatim and Tel Nov airbases, and no official photos were released. This is unverified but suggests restricted access to imagery.
    • Most available images focus on ground attack aftermath (e.g., Supernova festival, kibbutzim) rather than rocket damage, as the ground incursion caused more visible destruction.
    • Reuters and AP images from later attacks (e.g., October 1, 2024, Iranian missile strikes) show Iron Dome interceptions and minor damage, but these are not specific to October 7, 2023.

Where to Find Pictures
  • News Outlets:
    • Al Jazeera: Offers images of Ashkelon damage, including burning cars and firefighters at work. Search their October 7, 2023, article titled “Scenes from Hamas’s morning rocket attack on Israel.”

    • The New York Times: Satellite imagery of Sdot Micha is available in their December 4, 2023, article, though access may require a subscription.

    • ABC News: References Tel Aviv rubble images in their November 22, 2023, timeline article.

  • X Platform: The geolocated post by
    @MiddleEastBuka
includes a video and image of the Ashkelon building hit, accessible via the provided links.
  • Other Sources: Check Getty Images or Reuters for stock photos from Ashkelon and Tel Aviv, though specific October 7 images may be sparse. NPR’s October 7, 2024, retrospective may have related visuals.

Challenges and Notes
  • Sparse Imagery: The Iron Dome’s high interception rate (up to 99% in some cases) limited widespread damage, reducing the number of dramatic photos. Most rocket impacts caused minor structural damage or hit open areas.

  • Focus on Ground Attacks: Media coverage prioritized the horrific ground incursions (e.g., 364 killed at Supernova festival, 108 at Be’eri), overshadowing rocket damage visuals.

  • Security Restrictions: Israel’s control over military site imagery, especially Sdot Micha, limits public access. Claims of satellite blinding suggest deliberate obfuscation, though these are speculative.
  • Verification: X posts like

’s are inconclusive without corroboration, as they rely on unverified claims. Always cross-check with reputable sources.

here is the bit i was thinking about it was the nbc news i remember

Quote:The report, based on an internal inquiry and released Thursday, said the Israeli military "failed in its mission" to protect the kibbutz, a few miles from the border with the Gaza Strip, because of grave errors in Israel’s response to the multipronged assault.

The Israeli military, the inquiry found, was not prepared for the “extensive infiltration scenario” led by the militant group that day and had only trained for the possibility of isolated infiltrations.

This is despite reports that the Israeli military had reviewed a detailed blueprint of Hamas' plans months before the attack. Military analysts' early warnings about the threat had been dismissed.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stood defiant throughout the war amid calls for accountability and a growing body of evidence that his government missed or ignored critical warnings about Hamas' plans.

He has also rebuffed calls for a comprehensive state inquiry into Israel's failings surrounding the Oct. 7 attack.

and the one from cnn:

https://edition.cnn.com/2023/10/12/middl...index.html

Quote: The fact that Hamas trained for the attack in plain sight for at least two years raise further questions as to why Israel, home to the Middle East’s most sophisticated military and spying operation, was unable to pick up on and stop the October 7 attack?

When CNN reached out to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) for comment, its international spokesperson Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus said the findings were “nothing new.”

edit: although lol if im not misunderstand you haha maybe everything fake never can tell! remind me of noplane holograms!
