The Bible tv series

So I started watching this show, The Bible, uncut on Prime last week.  I had heard of it but never watched it before now.  It is produced by Mark Burnett the guy that produces Survivor.

It was first released on the History Channel on cable in 2013.  There’s a few scenes where Satan appears briefly and I had no idea there was such a controversy and that the actor’s appearance went viral.  Viral enough that the scenes, tho brief were cut when it first aired after the History Channel debut.

The actor Mehdi Ouazzani, who imo kinda looks like Salvador Dali is middle eastern but somehow when he was made up in makeup and costume he looked like Barrack Obama.

Burnett and his team caved and cut the scenes.  The version that Im watching now is uncut with the scenes intact.  I started searching and had no idea about the controversy.

Im guessing that Burnett might have received a stern warning from folks higher up the ladder.

Is that depiction controversial because they thought he was made up to look like Obama, Obama happened to look like that depiction, or too many people think 'all you people look alike'? The last one being quite racist but all three supporting victim culture..

There are similarities, same standard human facial features, but also sugnificant differences that make me think I would not have made the comparison if not told they looked similar.

I thought the depiction of angels in syfy's 'Childhood's End' was considered very controversial by most. Then again, I had not even heard of this one until now.

I stopped watching most discovery channel shows long ago as they are about as factually reliable as the National Enquirer.

I immediately had a wtf moment when I saw him in the first scene and immediately said,  “that looks like Obama”.  I haven’t watched many shows on cable like the History Channel and that’s been probably 10 years.  I just found it a couple of weeks ago.  Prime didn’t cut the scenes.

Yes, it could have been just the makeup artests making a joke or going the National Enquirer rout for views. The more I learn about Discovery Channel shows, the more sensationalized I find they are. So many docudramas.
