This was a great video, and person to follow if you want the weather and not the hype.
While this video was from yesterday (October 6th) the important bit is where he warns the viewers about the hype-scam taking place and being rewarded by YouTube.
Quoted from the video transcript:
I wonder if he got an inside note about this fear brewing from YouTube about pushing more "Fear Mongering" over the hurricane videos. It's sad how companies are trying to exploit others during a situation like this.

Quote:And before we dive too deep into that I do want to put out a little bit of a PSA.
1:14 The internet is crazy right now man especially over on TikTok and Twitter or X. Just kind of
1:19 hold on to this thought, okay? As you're browsing social media, as you're looking at videos and
1:25 stuff, anytime you see a post that makes you feel something, anytime you read something or watch
1:31 something that makes you feel scared especially or fearful, just know that the person who made
1:37 that piece of content stands to greatly benefit financially based off of how scared you are.
1:43 So the more anxiety they can provoke from you, the more scared they can make you, the more you
1:49 keep coming back and keep scrolling, the more everybody stands to gain in this situation.
1:55 The vast majority of people who are posting weather information online right now are not
1:59 driven by trying to inform you or trying to keep you safe. They're driven by money. And
2:05 this is a common thing, right? You know, the weather channel is obviously driven by money,
2:12 but this is a unique situation where literally anybody who knows nothing about anything can pick
2:17 up their phone, make a TikTok, say some nonsense and have it go viral and it scares you you know
2:23 and I feel so sorry for all the people in Florida right now who are probably getting bombarded
2:30 by several different sources of information and it probably feels impossible right now to truly
2:35 understand what's going to happen we don't need to be scared we should rather be prepared as this is
2:41 going to be a big storm and it's gonna have some pretty widespread and significant impacts over
2:46 here in Florida and potentially even other parts of the southeastern United States and the center
2:51 path here from the official forecast is really a worst case scenario.
I wonder if he got an inside note about this fear brewing from YouTube about pushing more "Fear Mongering" over the hurricane videos. It's sad how companies are trying to exploit others during a situation like this.
