Should the USA leave NATO.

If there is any need any group of countries can make their own agreements, and, in fact, several of those agreement exist between NATO countries, with the oldest being the Anglo-Portuguese treaty of 1373.

Edited to add that, although I agree that NATO should have ended several years ago, I don't think this is a good time to spread more division between allies.

Also, the way you say "let Europe fight its own wars" makes it sound like NATO was something European countries more or less imposed to the US, when in fact it was mostly created as an opposition to a possible spreading of Communism throughout Europe (that's why we got some US ships with their cannons pointing to the Portuguese parliament when the US thought there was a possibility of a Communist government in Portugal).

That means they can make rules and we have no input on them.  We can't form coalitions to stop things that are unwise.

In other words, we move from being an active force to being victim of whatever other countries decide to do with the planet.

I'm not fond of being the victim.

let’s take a lesson from history. Economic collapse devastated the ussr.

we don’t get our debt in check we are looking at the same. Government spending is inflationary, our rapid inflation is due to the money the government creates out of thin air.

we are creating money out of thin air to give it to countries that hate us and in turn damaging our own citizens. Not so friendly China hold just shy of 1 billion of that debt right now.

we return to solid economic powerhouse based on good economics we will be even more powerful.

stop all foreign aid. Bring our troops home. Get out of nato. Get out of debt then move forward from position of strength. Short term diminishment for long term strength.

There's so much to fix I dont see it happening in our life times.  It will take foresight and patience which the average American politician or not, does not have. And maybe be successful in 50 to 100 years.

In the meantime we have AI 'running' things and with the out of control policies in Washington previously I can't see how we can stop the collapse no matter what.

Their way of curtailing a financial collapse is kind of like a shell game, where they are moving everything back to bullion, and rehypothecating the market using 'green' schemes like carbon taxes, sinks and other make believe bull shit. That and the move towards Texas and other states to de-centralise into State run bullion depositories, and the Texas stock market coming online all point to guaranteed a de facto collapse of the Federal system and centralised market in order that the 'players ' dont really go bankrupt, they move their funds elsewhere to other markets and meanwhile the little guy loses as always.

Adding on, the other part of this shell game is shifting assets into space, like hypothecating metals on asteroids and the like, as leverage...

But getting out of NATO is a good step.
