Also, this might just be coincidence, but it was the exact color as my favorite color.
Like I said, physics.
The color can change depending on the light, the angle that you're viewing, and also includes "did someone wash the windows with something different?" as well as "dust."
TECHNICALLY, one could also say "something unusual happened to your eyes (something you consumed had an impact) or to your visual system (I've experienced things like that from LSD and "magic mushrooms" as well, but am not about to diagnose people or say that they might have consumed something unusal.)
It's a neat experience, though. My vote is for physics rather than medical.

Ok. Yeah, physics makes sense. I was kind of expecting that answer, but it was weird.

haha i like how the nun was all like "duh it's just the trees doofus".
perhaps the shirt in the op represents the vocation or path chosen to lead ones life, and it being a different colour could symbolically mean that one should choose a different path. it being the favourite colour could mean follow your heart instead of what other people want for you.

A few months ago, i was walking through the halls of our church early in the morning. I was there because i am 17 and my church does this early morning class for teenagers called seminary on school days. I looked at one of these glass door things they have that are like large windows with hinges from across a hallway, and i saw my reflection, but my shirt was bright blue. I currently had been wearing a black shirt. I walked down the hallway to see better, and just as i got within a few feet of it, the reflection faded away. The reflection looked exactly like me except for the shirt. Also, the color of the reflections shirt is my favorite colorz though i am unsure if that is related.
Perhaps there was something blue behind the glass, or reflected or refracted by the glass, but your eyes were focussed at the focal depth of your reflected image, and not at the focal depth of whatever was blue? Then, your shirt, being black, did not provide any contrast to hide the light from the other source, and so you saw that space in the image as blue?
Or, perhaps you were tripping?

People are going to explains things to you in a way that justifies their reality. Unfortunately despite people best intentions, telling someone something isn't real when it's perceived as such does not help and often they are the ones that is blind.
You have to chose between duality and non-duality. The former has a tendency to teach through fear and control, the later love and guidance. This is my experience and how my perception continues to be shaped.
Nod and smile to the hardcore materialist. There is no compassion, empathy or hope here and others have to carry the burden for them.
If it's bothering you or happens again, reach out to the church or a shaman. Know the difference in the help that you will get, maybe go to both. Some doors can never be closed once they are opened.
I call not love in human frame,
But chrome, and fire, and roaring flame.
She came in smoke and metal breath,
A streak of lust, a dance with death.

Outside was pitch black because it was about 6 in the morning, but i was inside where it was bright, but those doors where the doors to outaide so it being dark out there is stilk relevant. I was mainly confused because it wasnt just a change of color, but a change from the darkest collor of all to a very bright color.
Another thing could be what the shirt is made of, if it's man made stretch materials then you have a lot going on there which may be able to reflect or absorb light. The fashion designers have created mood, heat and light reflective color changing fabrics. There is a lot going on which fabric technology.
By the way that member calling a child a dufus for asking a question, should be invited to go back to ATS where it would be more acceptable behaviour.

Me? Oh, sorry. That's just the tone I got from the nun in your story, that she was deliberately leading you to not think anything too significant of it. I thought it was funny. I didn't mean to be rude; I'll try and be more careful.

That's okay, it's just having read the Old Testament Bible what with burning bushes without fire, angels descending to Earth talking to regular people, etc. The religious programming had my imagination running wild, along with being an alien (greys) contactee, I had to ask the nun. I was never a dufus, I just had enough courage to ask questions.

Yeah. And instead of saying something like, "well the world is full of wonders and God speaks to us in many ways, through our hearts and minds and the world, see how the light through the trees is constantly changing and beautiful?", it sounds like she just shut you down. The "funny" is more of the ironic observation that that sort of horror is just what some nuns seem to do. I dunno, maybe she had the best of intentions. My mom used to get a ruler across the back of the knuckles from them. Maybe it was out of love and service to God.

Well her simplistic explanation may have come from the fact that back then children should be seen and not heard - true fact. I, on the other hand, never agreed with that unwritten rule, much to the chagrin of many adults that crossed my path. The nun could not have explained it in any other way because they weren't much for knowing anything about the sciences, so I have to give her a pass.
