Cracking Windows on a Hot Day
#1
I've heard about back windows blowing out because windows weren't cracked on a hot day. Tom and Ray addressed this in one of their articles and the gist of that was that they didn't think it was necessary.

We're getting some 90 degree days here and I still think about it sometimes. I'm now leaning more towards you should. One of the vents on my Volvo popped out on the passenger side and I had to fix that, and I recall the last Charger I had where the vents were on the dash and they were popping out - the guy had that car sitting in the Sun for sale as I remember and windows probably weren't cracked.

I'm thinking maybe that not cracking windows on hot days might be what is causing these issues with vents popping out and the heat is contorting the shape of these plastic vent pieces so that they don't seat properly after.

Hot days - to crack or not to crack? Does it matter? That is the question.

I remember one time a relative cracked theirs a little too much and then got caught off-guard by a windy downpour; the steering wheel got all wet and the horn started going off and wouldn't stop.

My last Charger did have rain visors, so those were kind of useful for something like this.
