I try to interact with the world around me to keep things flowing smoothly and drop seeds online to sow a little thought here and there.

The private life is also one that I'm happy with too. No TV, no habitual Mobile use, house in the middle of the countryside, no online financials, and I will always resist authority and beat them at their own game given the chance. I am the Boss of me, a boat-rocker from birth.

this is very admirable and i like it with the possible exception of online financials. certainly control over one's household economy and local supply chain can be done well using simple cash or barter and that is great. anything beyond that though and there is no denying that you're not playing your own game as it were, but are playing 'their' game, and it is best done on their playing field knowing that fact. i think a lot of misery in the world is when people think they're playing the own game but they're actually playing someone else's, on their turf. and sadly the financial world beyond the local household is like that. no use trying to beat them at that they own it and would you really want to any way? i've heard many self-sufficient independents saying things like end-the-fed, get rid of fiat financial system, etc., but my opinion is that for what it is, it is not bad, somewhere between lawful-neutral and lawful-evil. yes i use the aversion to keep myself in a self-sufficient mindset, but the truth is i really don't want to have to barter for everything or keep my savings in a chest of gold buried in the back yard, so i accept that laziness as what it is and play their game to an extent, i ain't gonna beat them at it, they get their taxes and service fees and such as is lawful. and the playing field they've established is online financials, so that is what i use when i'm not using cash. and in all truth it is easy and convenient given that. how do you avoid it entirely?

When I mention "no online financials" I suppose I wasn't really clear, and I understand your point about playing thier game.

I have limited obligations with banking and employment and tax  declarations which keeps interaction to a minimum and control of my own money in my life. The things I use online financials for is to avoid everyday banking on the whole and to keep the monthly things ticking over and understood, so no surprises. I just don't have a flow of uncontrolled things pecking away in the dark.

My life is incredibly simple and uncomplicated, and I believe THAT has been the key to my quiet happiness in a world watching their own financials and many living in anxiety because of it and the invisible obligations people build up over time making them chase more income to fund them. Things like subscriptions and credit have been a thing of the past or non-existant for decades now. If I can't pay for it from my pocket, it isn't for me.

The side effect of all this, is that the little luxuries now have so much more meaning and satisfaction.

So...I don't want to avoid ALL official financial systems, I just want to use the right ones enough to fly under the radar.

I'd be screwed if I won the lottery jackpot. Lol
