Well that is part of the process I believe. I look back 1 year, 5 years, 15 years, and see myself spinning wheels in different ways. It's at that point where you say "fuck it this is useless" that the turning points in life arrive. Not obviously, except in retrospect. Climb a mountain. Skin a cat. Hug a tree. Whatever.

Saying "I give up", like Alan Mendelsohn, the Boy from Mars. That's key.
