Caturday Business Idea
#1
I picked three mice corpses off the patio this morning. My female cats are the hunters, and are always out all night. If I fixed small video cameras to one or more cats, filmed and edited their hunts, and posted to a monetized YouTube channel, would that make significant money?  Keep in mind that they kill big rats and gophers as well.

Animal videos are always a winner. I watch videos of people testing their pets with obstacle courses. Or a Japanese couple with urban otters. The more adorable the better.

Judge for yourself.

Episode #66 of "Cats with GoPro" garnered 2.1 million views.

How much is 2 million views worth?

Quote:Earnings from 2 million YouTube views can range from $3,000 to $15,000 depending on factors like ad engagement and viewer demographics. Longer videos with mid-roll ads can significantly increase revenue from 2 million views.

Yes, it can make money, but it's like anything else entertainment industry. Not everyone gets views and just because other similar channels did well, doesn't mean yours will. It's just such low risk/high reward that it never hurts to try. Not much of an investment and if you can actually get your cat to not make it's sole purpose getting that damn thing off its neck, why not?

I may investigate small video cameras and how they are mounted to cats.  The cat that I suspect is my best huntress is currently sleep on a kitchen chair. These would not be the typical cute oet videos, but more like a short  nature documentary.

They have secret meeting you know. Some have more than one family. They shrug off collars, so good luck. And any cat carrying human surveillance devices is shunned and excluded. They only play along as it serves them.

They know. They know. See how they stare at sunbeams? We are the dust particles they so aloofly observe.

What are they up to???

I was attempting to start wrapping Christmas presents this morning but after about 10 minutes I had to stop and decided to wait until the cats are napping.

One ripped up a big sheet of wrapping paper and I don’t want to have to go out and buy more.  He was also trying to get into shopping bags and mess with everything.  I’ll try again in a couple of hours and quietly go back into the bedroom and close the door.  Grin

If you have foil wrap then scrunch it up in balls, it seems they might like the crinkling sound.

You know why they do that?   It's because they think that you suck at hunting, and thus they want to leave you offerings.

I think your idea might hold water.   I would watch such a channel.   Not sure I would pay to watch it though.

I still think there's good money in mouse flavoured cat food, but luckily, people only feed cats things they like the idea and look of.
