Brit Isle of Man Overrun by Wallabies
#1
The Isle of Man (one of the British Isles) has a Wallaby problem.

The Isle of Man is now home to more than a 1,000 wallabies, confirming their established presence and extensive distribution across the island. The figures were confirmed during a recent wildlife survey carried out by BH Wildlife Consultancy (BHWC) in partnership with the Manx Wildlife Trust and commissioned by the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture (DEFA).
The wallabies have adapted well to the island’s environment, bred and have established themselves in parts of the island, particularly in the northern and western regions.

invasive species.  usually nasty stuff like pythons or zebra mussels.  hard to get upset over cute wallabies, but they don't belong there.

Excellent, we will send the emus soon.
I was not here.

Cute, looks harmless and hard to get guns there. The island is doomed.

Now, if someone came up with a good recipe...
I know too much and question everything.
Does anyone know the minimum safe distance of ignorance?
Did anyone ask the monkeys how much fun the barrel actually was?

Bahahaha! Like the Tourist Trophy races aren’t dangerous enough!!!

It’s a little ironic that what happened in Australia with bringing in invasive species has come home to roost there.

Will they add predators? Seems like fun….

My 2 pesos…

It's rumoured that we have them on the mainland too. Maybe that's what's keeping the black panthers happy and not attacking the Human population!!  Spin

Great. Now it needs an better name. Wombat stew does not sound very appealing.

They seem like feistier angrier little kangaroos.
Did they escape from a zoo?

Back in the 1960s, a couple of adventurous, red-necked wallabies escaped from a wildlife park on the Isle of Man and never looked back. Instead of hopping home, they evaded capture and started their own feral colony, right there in the middle of the Irish Sea. Now, decades later, they’ve built quite an impressive family: According to a survey conducted last year, there are more than 560 of them roaming the island, far more than anyone expected

Boil the wombat in a bucket with a brick, throw the wombat and eat the brick
Wombats have no fat, just a dry tough meat, it’s ok if it’s turned into jerky

This is a creepy thread because I can't help but wonder if it's a racist dogwhistle, or some kind of anti-immigration message.

But no, it is about wallabies and wombats.

I should stop reading Reddit.
