Democrats have mentioned Trump's Epstein connection before... they probably didn't go full-bore because of the Clinton's, maybe implicate too many others, etc...

ANY time a politician adopts this attitude in public, (for public consumption) I can assure you it's "appearance" manipulation...
Who tells their bosses "You're wasting time." and closes the door to dialogue?
An employee? Or something else?

A friend of mine on another forum put it very well I have to share his thoughts
The very last of the trust molecule is now completely gone. No one in the Gov’t can be trusted. Nothing the Gov’t says can be trusted. The Japanese have now been let off the hook. July 7, 2025 … has now become The Day That Will Live In Infamy!
The next “press conference” will tell us everything we need to know about the so-called “press” and the intelligence levels of those who call themselves “journalists”.
...which stage of death we are at now as a country? Have we made it to “depression” yet or are we still on “bargaining”?
To be fair to all those who still believe… Trump did have a mystique about him that lent him the
slimmest possibility of a credible chance. There will never again be a reform candidate like him.
Not even Trump.
This Epstein Memo is indeed a “crossing of the Rubicon”. By their own actions and repeated failures to tell the truth they have created the conditions under which any rational person must assume that the majority of information coming from the Gov’t is False in the strongest sense of the word.
Our Gov’t has now, without a doubt, committed the Unpardonable Sin of Reason … they have blocked the way of inquiry. Without proper inquiry no Truth can be had.
last night I read a Substack author say just that, that we as a country are in grief whether we admit it or not. The ones I complain about “partying all the time” are avoiding their awareness of grief.

It is true, there's now no reason to believe Trump and his baseless conspiracy theories, according to the New York Times:
Quote:For months, Attorney General Pam Bondi promised the release of documents on the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein that could reveal damaging details, drumming up anticipation over the files, long a source of speculation and conspiracy theories.
But on Monday, a memo by the Justice Department undercut her own statements, pouring cold water on baseless claims. It amounted to a catalog of conclusions that affirmed those reached years earlier by investigators, including that Mr. Epstein killed himself while in a Manhattan cell awaiting trial....
In the six years since his death in 2019, the case of Mr. Epstein has become a public obsession for a segment of Trump supporters, some of whom have accused two of his most senior advisers, Ms. Bondi and the F.B.I. director Kash Patel, of slow-walking the review and release of the case file. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/07/07/us/po...icide.html
Case closed, Mr Trump. Even your lackeys aren't supporting your lies any more.
Of course, there are always going to be the "true believers", who will believe Trump's narrative regardless of what any fact or authority says. This is because of the echo-chamber effect, which ChatGPT defines as follows:
Quote:“Trump cloisterism” refers to the phenomenon by which certain supporters of former President Donald J. Trump create and inhabit a self-contained ideological environment. Much like monks retreating into a cloister, members of these communities consume only pro-Trump news outlets, social media channels, and commentary, dismissing mainstream or critical sources outright as “fake news.” Within this sealed ecosystem, shared symbols—rallies, slogans, memes, merchandise—serve both to reinforce group identity and to mark the boundaries between those inside the cloister and those deemed outside it.
The mechanisms of Trump cloisterism include selective media consumption, a strong in-group ritual life, and systematic rejection of dissent. Followers may congregate around rally speeches, podcasts, and online forums that echo the same talking points, creating a feedback loop in which each new assertion is validated by prior statements. Critics and fact-checkers are openly disparaged, and any contradictory evidence from independent sources is reinterpreted as part of a broader conspiracy or information war. As a result, members grow increasingly confident in their beliefs, often viewing any external challenge not as a prompt for reconsideration but as further proof of the “enemy” intent to silence them.
The political and social implications of Trump cloisterism are multifaceted. On one hand, strong group cohesion can drive high levels of turnout, fundraising, and grassroots organizing, giving the movement practical momentum. On the other, it can deepen societal divisions by eroding common ground: if two groups do not agree on the basic facts of public life, meaningful debate becomes nearly impossible. Moreover, cloisterism may hinder internal accountability, since leaders are insulated from criticism and followers feel less incentive to scrutinize policy claims or mistakes. In the long run, then, Trump cloisterism illustrates both the power and peril of highly insular political tribes in contemporary democracy.

And to answer your question about the dems not using it to stop Trump from winning in 2024. Well I suspect those files he had stashed away may have had something to do with that.

Hearty applause for a well-considered statement.
I echo the slumbering shame of that haunting admission that the state of people is "they don't want to hear it."
In a normal society, activism is the natural remedy... making people hear...
but between 'activist' "journalism,"
the monetization of 'virtual' speech,
and what so many presume is "social" media...
we lose the thread of sanity as we dance to the tunes of "informative" news programming. Where image is the product... Images are not to be worshiped...
organized-produced entertainment hatred is just as much image worship, in effect.
Not saying ignore it...
Let your friend know someone agrees.

The worst part is people thinking they are being 'active' about the actual problem . . .
They are just protesting what they are being told to be angry about, not the real issue.
But that's not the right thread. . .
