Its been an unusual few years and just as unusual run up to an election
Guess if they had have stopped Trump, Biden may have had a chance

it was clear Biden wasn’t in charge of the US, makes me wonder who is

Well... it seems that we also know who will be the next 'candidate' for President, assuming Biden knows...
 

In a separate social media post Sunday, Biden endorsed his vice president, Kamala D. Harris, to replace him as the Democratic Party’s standard-bearer ahead of its national convention Aug. 19-22.

I’m disappointed. It was a slam dunk, previously.

Now, we have an unknown incumbent, that could ‘potentially’ steal another election.

Surely the Democrats can’t lead with Kamala, not much choice at this stage
Thinking a high profile, celebrity type 
Hate to say it but, Michelle Obama is probably their best shot in my opinion, based solely on her celebrity status and recognition

The Democrats will probably use the fear of another disastrous 1968 convention to crown Harris as Biden's replacement in the presidential race. Of course, the danger is that higher-quality candidates will be squeezed out of the process.

Anointing another losing or unfit candidate would gift the election to Trump and anger voters further.

‘Big Mike’ doesn’t want it. There’s a big difference in being the giver and ‘receiver’.

Those higher quality candidates are being saved for the next cycle.
Why put your best up against a volatile candidate?

I don’t see any other real option than Big Mike, not saying I support the man

So from here, does Biden sit back for a few months and caretakers or does he implement more foreign policy, open some borders, spend more in Ukraine.
Dont for 1 second think Biden is in control, thinking those who are behind him, implement some interesting policy before the exit

That is an excellent question. If that occurs, the Democrats will further undermine their argument that Trump represents an existential threat to democracy. (Never mind that the U.S. is a constitutional republic, not a parliamentary democracy.)

If those potential presidential candidates genuinely believe Trump is that dangerous, then one doesn't wait another four years to make a run for the White House. But I expect they don't believe in the MSNBC narrative and will likely make calculated political decisions.

A decent candidate could run a shorter parliamentary-style campaign to win back swing voters. But I don't envision that scenario occurring.

Indeed, that is one of my gravest concerns going forward for future presidents. Even if a president doesn't have significant character defects or health issues, they will have to wrestle the policy decision-making process back from the "deep state."

Since the bureaucracy shifted from advising the president to running the show, they are also in bed with propaganda outlets, such as MSNBC and others. Any president who attempts to assert their constitutional powers will face the subsequent Russia Gate hoax and phoney grounds for impeachment. 

In light of this situation, countries like Australia and New Zealand, which rely on the so-called international rules-based order for security and trade, require a plan B. In particular, Australia is placing all their eggs into the Aukus basket.
