Do you think that any of your dreams been more than 'just dreams'??
For example ....
A few years back I dreamed that the demon of death walked into my dream and approached me. Just like you see in cartoons .... an entity in the black cape and hood. I instantly knew it was death. I instantly knew it's name was 'The Great Equalizer'. And I instantly was frozen to my very soul with terror. I'm an American so I have a bit of the 'all American' attitude that if someone/something threatens you, you get in their face and beat the crap out of them (or shoot them). But this thing glided up to me in my dream and I couldn't move or think .. it was pure terror to my very soul. I've never felt that before or since. When I woke up I was sure that it was an actual visitation ... spirits can get into dreams. You are in an altered state of consciousness during them.
Another example ...
Many years ago ... 10 or 15? ... I was dreaming that I was on an airplane. I was in an aisle seat. It was night time. There was a thunder storm going on outside the plane. I could feel every one of the dozens of passengers feellings at the same time that I could feel my own. All of them were scared. I felt them separately from my own feelings but could still feel them. Then lightening hit the wing of the plane and the plane started to fall. I felt every one of them know they were about to die and I felt their terror, while still maintaining my separate identity from them. A women a few rows up was turning around in her seat to look at everyone and she saw me and her eyes froze on mine. She was shocked to see me while at the same time she was terrorized at the knowledge she was about to die. She knew I wasn't supposed to be there ... like I was a ghost or something. When I woke up in the morning I turned on the TV to watch the news as usual and they reported that a plane had crashed in the night .. somewhere in the South East USA I believe ... and all on board were killed and that they were blaming a lightening strike on the plane for the crash.
So ... do you have any dreams that seem to be more than 'just a dream'??? If so ... share.

So, did the plane dream "predict" the events on the news, or did the fact that it was foremost in your mind make you notice and remember that particular story? How many other stories about plane crashes do you remember?
I have experienced sleep apnea before, and the dreams that go along with that -- hoo boy; the mind finds ways to justify what is happening, perhaps. Do you sleep on your back? I have found that often that is a factor in sleep breathing.
The entire idea of dreams is surreal. Imagine explaining them to aliens who don't sleep. "Yeah, well, for a third of our existence we withdraw from the world and hallucinate. We don't really know why. Everyone thinks that's normal and doesn't really mention it, usually".
I followed the Science, and all I found was the Money.

I said this at ATS so I'll say it here ...
I hate dreaming. Someone likened it to 'mind rape'. And that's what it is.

I don't know if this is what you are trolling for FlyersFan, but I will tell you. My dreams are often filled with people who are not known to me. I am a writer, so one might rightfully assume that my subconscious is dilligently at work creating characters for my future writing fodder. Still, it freaks me out sometimes. I wonder if I have intercepted other people's dreams, because most of mine don't seem to pertain to me. I wake up and think WTF Subconscious!!!! If you want to tell me something, why don't you just SAY it!!!!! No need to be cryptic!
But the subconscious doesn't oblige. It just sits there, it won't engage with my conscious thoughts, nope. That would be too direct of a communication. Can't have that.

Dreams trip me out. They filter things.
I used to mock my friend for being an Allison Dubois believer. I thought she was being taken by a female John Edwards.
To paraphrase what Allison says seeing her live: The dead exist after death. She is a firm believer in the afterlife and credits her abilities on visitation from the dead. Usually through dreams in which they leak some kind of Twin Peaks/Lynchian clue.
An example of that alleged ability was having a dream about a specific traffic stop, and according to all agencies involved, it accurately described the circumstances in the capture of "The Baseline Sniper." Until you look into and find out that it was just a narrative and he oy talked yo her twice about it. None the less it demonstrates how the crimes she did help on were solved.
And if you likewise believe, it is possible, at very least, there is some underlying determinism the push towards a specific outcome, and this can at least be interpreted through an interconnected collective unconscious.
What she describes is like "Stir of Echos" (book turned Kevin Bacon movie overshadowed by The 6th sense) where trauma can literally echo on the fabric of space/time and almost reverberate.
Like the victim sends out one final impression to avenge their death, or the knowledge repressed by the suspects bleeds through, and it all conveys itself through the unaware web of the collective mind. It can even answer questions abstractly without realizing it.
If true, it suggests there is at least a "divine channel." A "master consciousness," or something so interactive it sends reverberations of past and premonitions of future events to likely receivers, like Allison Dubois
Her track record for unsolved homicides is amazing enough to think the randomness of statistic chance, of our indeterministic world, has at least some outcomes, that are anything but.

Tl;dr.
Now this topic is among my favorites so I'm going to take the time to read it in full
I was going to write out my story but I feel like I'm fixated on myself and I just want to share a snippet of my story.
My dreams are few, and exotic. Dreams where I can feel things that everyone I've ever known said isn't real, which I find hilarious. Anyways one of these "dreams" I met a grizzly ancient looking self proclaimed space pirate captain. He brought me to a small very lived in and old looking ship. He began by telling me he was a different me. We are somehow the same. I don't get that part.
He then went on to tell me about how the universe works and some grand scheme we're all playing a part in but I have never been able to recall the conversation. Last thing I remember is asking why? Why me why now, I just needed something that made sense to remember this conversation. He laughs hysterically and says his vas deference was stolen by a gypsy.
So I've had the laugh of mad space pirate bouncing around my head for life I guess. Also something about a type of people I've never known anything about, taking his... We'll look it up. I had to. I didn't know what that was like so much else blurry in this episode.
It was incredibly fun at least.

It must be a "me" thing...
I have many mundane/routine type dreams that I remember bits and pieces of, with little, if anything, remarkable to dwell on. Occasionally, there are elements of the dream which concern real experiences and people or things... but mostly not even remotely prophetic.
Then, there are the "other" dreams... so complex and jam-packed with details and events that I wake up confused and actually distressed over the glaring "WTF" feeling of the memory. It's almost as if I had been living an entire richly detailed life in my sleep. I mean, I wake up mentally exhausted, and spend a great deal of time trying (and failing) to make sense of the "message" - if there even was one. There may have been some message, but I can't figure it out at all. I get the intense impression that it was very important, and subsequently feel like a fool for not being able to figure it out... like I missed something important. If I were to journal the dream it would be many pages long, not that it would make sense... even to me.
While I can't say that any of these dreams were prophetic, or personally significant, it feels like they must have been, given how the leave me sometimes agitated and concerned (even if I wasn't agitated in the dream...)

I had many weird dreams I can't explain. Some of them seem to have no connection to my daily life and feature people I have never met. I try to interpret them but I'm not sure if my interpretation is correct. If I wanted to talk about all of them, it would be too long a rant.
I think you mean here mostly prophetic dreams. I can remember one and it was directly related to my work.
I work in a nursing home. I dreamt I had a break, went to our cafeteria to have a dinner. I spent there exactly two hours. I remember having remorse I was sitting there for so long. When I came back, I noticed the room where one of our residents lived was locked but there was a small widow in the wall which I could look through. I saw my patient lying in his bed covered with sheet. My colleagues told me we were waiting for the doctor to confirm his death. It was bizarre because he showed no signs of deteriorating health. So I dismissed the dream, thought it was perhaps caused by my fatigue or stress.
Next month I had two weeks of planned holiday. When I came back after my holiday, I learned our patient died. Exactly the same I had a dream about.

I have had dreams about people I know who are dead.
Those dreams were just dreams. The dead didn't visit.
However, I have had dreams where spirits have been in them.
(spirits, good and bad, can get into your dreams)
You can feel the difference. When they show up ...
The bad ones have a feel like cardboard to them.
Flat, no emotions, like they are hiding who they really are.
At least, that's my experience.
