I was at a stop light today and a homeless man asked me for $20.
I said son, I'm afraid you'll just go spend it on booze or lay down there by the river with all the other guys fishing and not looking for a job.
He said sir, I haven't had a drink in 5 years and 2 years ago, I lost everything. My house, my boat, all my fishing gear, it was terrible.
I said to him, well get in the truck, you're going home with me. We went to my house and my Wife fixed him a good dinner, he took a shower and his clothes smelled pretty bad so my Wife insisted on washing them.
After all that, I took him back to where I found him and he said sir, I want to thank you. You didn't have to do all that, you could have just drove on or gave me money and forgot about me, so why did you take me home with you ?
I said I wanted my Wife to see what happens to a man when he has to give up drinkin' and fishin'.
