Many times in that book, killing is looked on as a good thing. For self defense, for defense of others, for defence of a nation, etc. Take David and Goliath as an example.

Again, the ones translating did not speak or read the language they were translating from.

Unless it's in the name of God.

Then they were allowed to kill and murder.

Encouraged even...

I mean its all rather hypocritical if you think about it.
"Yet so it is, we see the illiterate bulk of mankind that walk the high-road of plain common sense, and are governed by the dictates of nature, for the most part easy and undisturbed. To them nothing that is familiar appears unaccountable or difficult to comprehend."

Yes, exactly.

I remember that song in church years ago about living in Cainen land. Why celebrate genocide? The Cainenites were eliminated by the Israelites. But at that time God liked that sort of thing I guess.

Strange lesson.
I know too much and question everything.
Does anyone know the minimum safe distance of ignorance?
Did anyone ask the monkeys how much fun the barrel actually was?

Was "Yahweh" not a Canaanite storm lesser God, before evolving into the God of the supreme sort we consider today?

It's all convoluted, tangled, and complicated.

Rince and repeat, ile chose this part but not that one, etc...

Yes, Yahweh was the horned god of the Canaanites.

Everything including various spellings have been used to confuse the people.

I will never say there is not a God but the books are just about controlling people. God is not in organized religion.
