Uh-oh ... 3D Printed MANPADS

Yea, I just saw this and read an article on some crazy young guy. He goes into full detail and this was done allegedly for less than 100$ .

The project description says the system uses an onboard flight computer, inertial measurement hardware, and a sensor stack that includes GPS, compass, and barometric modules to determine orientation and transmit telemetry.
At the end of the video, the developer says the prototype was only made possible because "modern tools, additive manufacturing, consumer electronics, and rapid prototyping have shattered the old barriers that once confined advanced hardware to well-funded laboratories."
Stuff like this will make urban gangs very dangerous, as  well as leftist terrorists, Islamic Militants, Christian militants, and any non-state actors seeking a new way through kinetic action.

But this is new because no one reported it before...

There is no end to the ingenuity with which people craft weapons.

It will be an interesting idea to promote that "anyone can do this."
Someone could die trying to launch a home made weapon.

And if California's preemptive legislation takes hold... no one will ever be able to print anything without it 'phoning home' and reporting it to an authority... it will not function...

It will fall under 'communication' devices... no 'token of authority' no workee.

Of course some will work around that anyway... but it's there...

When I read or research how much MIC defense weapons cost the American tax payers I always think someone needs to go to jail.

I did a thread on this last week. It was removed. It shows up on Google news so it is not a secret.

I know too much and question everything.
Does anyone know the minimum safe distance of ignorance?
Did anyone ask the monkeys how much fun the barrel actually was?

Well, sounds like the next new thing for any prepper's survival bunker  Eureka  Saint2 Biggrin

I feel like this pairs well with the flame throwing robot dog and personal drone swarm fleet.

Sounds like for $20,000 the modern American can really turn himself into a full spectrum one man army. If we are near civilizational collapse as some presume (I do not presume such things) ,this may be a prudent time to build just such a survival strategy. The regulatory liberty may not be around for long.

Former high-power hobby racketeering here.

Was also involved with an amature space launch competition back in the mid-1990's.

Problem we confronted back then was the "speed limit" imposed on commercially available GPS chips/systems of 600MPH, by the US government.

The limitation can be overcome, IF you have a clever electrical engineer and coder on staff...

And are aware that the limit even exists..

Or you avoid the issue altogether by stay below 600MPH.
