Five Iranian Woman Soccer Players Granted Asylum in Australia

The Iranian Womans Soccer team was in Australia playing.   The team didn't sing the national anthem of Iran.   Iran got mad at them.   Five of the women sought asylum.   The others are going to be questioned separately to see if they want to stay in Australia as well.  (TV News says that)  Trump put pressure on Australia  to take them in.    If they went back to Iran they'd probably be put in prison or killed.

Check out the pictures.   First thing they did was take off those stupid hijabs.   FREEDOM!  Got rid of the slave gear that the men force them to wear or they'd be beaten and put in prison.

Quote:Australia granted asylum to five players from the Iranian women’s soccer team who were visiting for a tournament when the U.S.-Israeli attacks against Iran began.

"Last night I was able to tell five women from the Iranian Women’s Soccer team that they are welcome to stay in Australia, to be safe and have a home here," Australia's Minister for Home Affairs Tony Burke said on X.

The move comes after the team refused to sing the Iranian anthem before one of their matches.

The rest of the soccer team got on a bus at their hotel to leave to go back to Iran.   The bus encountered protestors who refused to let the womens team go.   They wanted ALL the soccer players to get a chance to have freedom.   One soccer player was seen being forced onto the bus by the other Iranians.  She was crying.

I hope they are afforded a better existance.

It was an incrfedibly brave protest by them and Aussie Persians - the people forcing them onto the bus were IRGC minders who've banned the women from speaking to family, public, press etc since the protest and they/their families back in Iran are said to be facing execution or lifetime imprisonment for standing up to the regime.

You also have to think about what would happen to the Iranian teams families. I imagine the team were told if they didn't return home their families would suffer.

The ammount claiming asylum has now risen to 'at least 7' with reports a player succesfully refused/escaped being forcibly bundled on a plane back to Iran from Sydney airport. Australian border force are meant to have made numerous offers of asylum to players including private one to one meetings prior to boarding but other players were understandably too scared to claim asylum due to family reprecussions.

Sounds very much like the Soviet Union days to me.

If you defected and depending on your importance to the state, your family had to denounce you. If they did not, (and sometimes even if you did) they were sent to the gulag system, often never to be seen again.

North Korea is the same. I’m fairly certain that China is as well.

As usual, my 2 pesos…

The Hijabs are part of their religion, not a part of the Iranian government.  They can still be Muslims in Australia, just like they are allowed to be here in the USA.  I know some Muslims, the ones I know are not a threat to our country, but there are some in this country who are a threat to our country, some of them are haters of our people and of australians and other countries people who are not in align with radical Muslim ideology.

Except it's being forced on them by the government.
Not all Muslims wear one.
I am of the opinion it's slave gear.
Invented by men to subjugate women.

TV news reporting that 4 of the 5 soccer players in Australia have decided to go back to Iran.  They are citing the reason as that their families are in danger and have been taken into custody because they (the soccer players) decided to stay in Australia.   So to save their families they are going back.

Of course, when they get back to Iran, they themselves will be arrested and put in prison and/or killed.

Tragic ending.   Only one soccer player is staying in Australia safe and free.
