Interesting article on some scientific theories about life after death.   Posting some highlights.

21 Scientific Theories That Make You Wonder

Quote:Quantum Computer Theory - The smallest particles in our brains could explain how consciousness survives death. Scientists have found that brain cells contain tiny structures called microtubules, where quantum effects take place. These quantum processes might store our consciousness as information patterns that float back into the universe when we die. This links to a larger theory that our minds tap into a quantum field that exists everywhere. Some physicists think this field holds all our memories and experiences, which stay intact after our physical body stops working.

Information Never Dies in Our Universe Theory - The second law of thermodynamics tells us something fascinating: information can’t disappear forever. Scientists who study entropy point out that everything leaves a permanent mark on the universe, including our thoughts and consciousness. Some physicists suggest our minds operate like information processors, turning experiences into patterns. These patterns might survive after our bodies stop working, perhaps converting into different forms of energy or merging back into the universe’s information field. The math behind this idea comes from both quantum mechanics and information theory research.

Our Brains Generate Electromagnetic Fields Theory - Scientists discovered that our thoughts and consciousness create specific patterns in the brain’s electromagnetic field. These fields don’t always stay contained within our skulls – they can extend beyond our physical bodies and interact with other electromagnetic fields. Some researchers think this might explain how consciousness works and why it doesn’t necessarily end with death. The electromagnetic patterns generated by our minds throughout life could persist in some form, like radio waves continuing to travel through space long after they’re first broadcast.

Time Might Not Flow the Way You Think theory - Physics tells us time doesn’t always move forward like an arrow. At the quantum level, time can flow backward, and some equations work the same in both directions. This suggests our experience of time as a straight line might be an illusion. Several physicists propose consciousness might exist outside of normal time, which could mean death isn’t the end but rather a transition. Our awareness might continue in a timeless state or move through different temporal dimensions we can’t normally perceive.

And this theory matches up with some Near Death Experience stories I've read ...
You are a sliver of the whole, and the whole is a consciousness, and you become
back part of that whole consciousness while retaining your individuality ...

Quote:The Whole Universe Could Be Conscious Theory - Panpsychism proposes that consciousness exists in everything, from atoms to galaxies. This theory suggests awareness isn’t created by our brains but is a fundamental property of the universe, like gravity or electromagnetism. Under this view, our individual consciousness taps into this universal awareness while we’re alive. When we die, our portion of consciousness might not vanish but instead rejoin the larger field of universal consciousness. Several modern physicists and philosophers support versions of this idea based on quantum mechanics research.

And then there is this radio theory ...

Quote:non-local consciousness acts like a radio signal theory - Scientists comparing consciousness to radio broadcasts noticed interesting parallels. Just as radio waves exist everywhere but need receivers to turn them into sound, consciousness might work similarly. Research suggests our brains act like receivers that tune into a field of consciousness existing beyond physical space and time. This non-local model explains cases where people report accurate information from far away during near-death experiences. It also suggests that when our brain-receivers stop working at death, consciousness continues in the field, like radio waves that keep traveling after a radio breaks.

And none of those theories are mutually exclusive, so it could be a combination of a few...

Quote:Research with brain-computer interfaces reveals surprising facts about consciousness. People can learn to control computers directly with their thoughts, suggesting consciousness can operate outside our natural biology.

Brain Computer Interfacing has so much potential in our mundane, to bridge  it to the divine, well we can only imagine.

Oxford University have a pretty good research into BCI, but I havent been following recent developments.

The university of Virginia I have linked theit NDE/past life stuff in threads before, but still may be of use

Elon Musk speculates that we are not existing in base reality.
He has said this in interviews, but hasn't put out information on why he believes it.
I bet his scientists have a whole lotta' info that would be interesting.

Im not one to listen to Musk, but his Neutolink company will be the one dominating the "market", when it goes beyond "experimental".

I have a neurological disorder so I was following it until I found out it cant help me as, its not a magic bullet.

It will help millions, I'm just not one of them.

I am a person who almost obsessively loves measurable data.    It is definitive.

The problem for me is, after death human experience is not measurable, at least not with any tool or gauge or device that I own.

Then I must consider faith, that realm which doesn't concern itself with measurable data.   In fact, faith is sustained by the very ideal that strength of conviction is sufficient purchase on the sheer cliff of reality.

So I have to feel my way along;  I'm fairly intuitive and empathetic.   It's not a superpower.   It's just an accumulation of experience and perception of patterns as a whole.   A Gestalt of sorts.

It is my belief that death is a transition to a different reality.    My own experiences, my Darlin's, and other people I have talked with infer to me a consensus of anecdotal information that suggests a meeting of known souls/people after death.   A different dimension?  We will see, won't we?  I'm not afraid of death any longer.   Hell, I didn't think I'd live this long.   Lol [Image: cthulhu.gif]
