The US has reportedly acquired 81 outdated Soviet-era combat aircraft from Kazakhstan, including MiG-31 interceptors, MiG-27 fighter bombers, MiG-29 fighters, and Su-24 bombers, at an average cost of less than $20,000 each. This purchase comes as Kazakhstan, historically aligned with Russia, is increasingly engaging with Western nations, signifying a shift away from its traditional ties with Moscow.
